The New Orleans Saints just won their first NFC Championship and will go to the Super Bowl for the first time in their franchise history.  For those who don’t know me, I am originally from New Orleans and I’m definitely excited about the win.

If nothing else, it is a great thing for the people of New Orleans to get to celebrate something and try to forget some of their troubles for a bit.  Of course, they still need to head down to Miami and win the Super Bowl in two weeks, so there is a bit more work to be done.

I’m praying for the win and since we are headed to New Orleans for Mardi Gras in 3 weeks, it would be great if we get there right after the Saints win the Super Bowl.  Talk about a festive atmosphere!!..;)

The Ironman is back in town this weekend.  Actually, it moved to a new home this year, the LA convention center. The last few years it has been at the Pasadena convention center and has only been on Saturday.

Apparently, the show is growing and will take place over Saturday and Sunday this year, with the Ironman competition happening tonight.

The Fitness Expo that I attended today was a lot of fun.  There were many vendors plying their wares, along with assorted fitness pros and celebrities making appearances.

My favorite at these events is a personal friend, Madonna Grimes.  Madonna (no, not the singer) is a well known dancer and choreographer in the fitness world.

As you can see, quite a stunning lady with a fantastic smile and even better personality.  It was great to see you, Madonna..;)

Of course, one of the primary motives of attending this show is to provide some motivation to get back into shape!!  So, since the first of the year has come and gone and I saw a good demo on kettlebells today, I think it’s time to dust off my kettlebells and get to swingin’!!
